ZIB
The Centre for International Student Assessment (ZIB) joins the implementation of the PISA studies in Germany and German research on international comparative education studies.
The Centre for International Student Assessment (ZIB) is a scientific research institution funded by the federal government and the federal states for the implementation of the PISA studies in Germany and for international comparative monitoring of education. Headquartered in Munich, ZIB is based on close cooperation between the DIPF, the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN) and the Institute for Educational Quality Improvement (IQB).
In addition to the implementation of the PISA study in Germany, research projects carried out at ZIB deal with further questions in connection to international comparative studies of education, so-called Large-Scale Assessments (LSA). Thus a general interest of ZIB research is on ensuring the quality of the education system. Furthermore, the promotion of junior researchers by imparting professional and methodological knowledge is a central concern of ZIB.
